Evanston police responded to a battery in progress at 800 Hinman Ave. on Aug. 13. Numerous callers reported seeing a female subject bleeding from her head while in the hallway on the seventh floor of the building at this location, said Commander Diane Davis of the Evanston Police Department. On the scene, police located a female who was bleeding from the back of her head; she was uncooperative and visibly disturbed, said the Commander. She was transported to St. Francis hospital for medical treatment for a small laceration to the back of her head.

Police were able to locate a suspect, who refused to cooperate and was taken into custody and transported to the police station for further investigation, said the Commander. Upon further investigation, police determined that the victim was allegedly hired by the suspect to perform sexual services, said the Commander. The suspect, a 41-year old Evanston man, was charged with misdemeanor battery.
