On Saturday, Sept. 1, at approximately10:20 p.m., the Evanston Police Department was notified by the Skokie Police Department that a pedestrian was struck by an auto at the intersection of Grant Street and Crawford Avenue. The pedestrian, a 63 year Evanston man, had been crossing Crawford Avenue at Grant Street when he was struck, said Officer Perry Polinski of the Evanston Police Department. The pedestrian was transported in critical condition by Skokie Fire paramedics to Evanston/North Shore University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, Sept. 2 at approximately8:07 a.m. said Officer Polinski.

At this time, Evanston Police Department traffic reconstructionists are continuing to investigate the accident, said Officer Polinski.
