Citizens’ Greener Evanston’s fourth annual Green Arts Show will feature artwork juried on artistic merit and use of green concepts that reflect more sustainable ways of living. The show will feature more than 25 artists and runs Sept. 7-23 in the upstairs gallery of the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St.

The featured artist is Mary Ellen Croteau whose self-portrait made out of 7,000 plastic bottle caps won the People’s Choice award at the 2011 Green Arts Show. Pictured above is her work “My Eye.” The show will open with an Artists Reception on Sept. 7 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free; wine and light refreshments will be served.

This dynamic show will offer family workshops in the Noyes gallery exhibit space on Sept. 8 and Sept. 15 and a tree walk around the Noyes Center on Sept. 15.

Green Arts Performance Night will feature improv by The Shelter Comedy, a performance by Lake Dance, choreographer Clare Tallon Ruen, and a fashion performance by Pretty Dirty artist Hanh Pham.

Admission for the evening is $5 at the door.

Workshops are free and open to the public, but space is extremely limited. Participants must pre-register at artshow@greenerevanston.org.
