Tom Pitt accepts the trophy from Chuck Friedl as winner of this year’s Dick Stillerman-Giovanni Vecci Memorial Tennis Round Robin played Labor Day weekend at Evanston Township High School. Mr. Pitt took first place with 53 games won over the two-day tournament. Since 1985 the ETHS Tennis Team Fund has benefited from the tournament’s donations, when it was started by Bob Kritz with only 12 players. This year, Mr. Friedl organized the field of 30 participants. The tournament is named in memory of two beloved stalwarts on the court during the tournament’s early years, Dick Stillerman and Giovanni Vecci.
