The Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs, in conjunction with the City of Evanston, will be hosting a free foreclosure workshop at the Evanston Public Library on September 24. The workshop will address such issues as refinance scams, mortgage affordability, renters living is foreclosure units, fair-lending rights and more.

Interfaith Housing Center is a HUD-certified housing counseling agency that works with the City of Evanston and its residents. Their housing counselors can help residents negotiate loan modifications with their lender and offer foreclosure counseling. They are based in Winnetka and offer additional office hours at the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center, located at 2100 Ridge Ave., on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays (residents should call Interfaith at 847/501-5760 to schedule an appointment).
