The City of Evanston and the Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs will be holding a workshop for landlords and tenants on rental housing responsibilities and rights on October 11. This meeting is open to all Evanston residents. 

The workshop will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 in the 4th Floor Parasol Room of the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center located at 2100 Ridge Ave. 

Participants in the workshop will:
Learn about their rights and responsibilities under the Evanston Landlord Tenant Ordinance.

  • Learn how to effectively work with their landlord/tenant to create a better living environment.
  • Learn how to request repairs or complete repairs in a proper manner.
  • Learn heat rules.
  • Learn security deposits rules.
  • Receive answers to their questions from a landlord/tenant expert.
