Bright Horizons, the nationwide childcare center, recently invited business, community and Northwestern University leaders to their Evanston facility, 1629 Orrington Ave. Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl officiated at the ribbon-cutting, after which tours of the center showcased the center’s classrooms and playgrounds. When City Council approved the center for the downtown area last winter, it was said to have a capacity for 308 children spread over 23 classrooms and ranging in age from 6 weeks to 6 years old. Sixty spots were to be reserved for Northwestern University use.
