Evanston Township High School issued the following statement on Sept. 28:

 In light of the recent community incidents in the Church Street area, Evanston Township High School has decided to change its Homecoming football game from Friday night (October 5) to Saturday afternoon (October 6). Kickoff will be at 1:30 p.m. It is our hope that a daytime event will provide a safer commuting experience for our students and the thousands of Wildkit fans who wish to attend the game. No other changes to Friday night games are anticipated. 

In addition, the Homecoming Dance, scheduled for Saturday night, will begin one hour earlier at 7:00 p.m .and will end at 10:00 p.m. Information about these changes has been communicated with our families and students. 

We look forward to welcoming our alumni home and having a fun and enjoyable Homecoming 2012. Go, Wildkits! 

On Saturday, October 6,EvanstonTownshipHigh School welcomes its alumni and fans to the homecoming game at Lazier Field as the Wildkits take on the Maine South Hawks. The kick-off time is1:30pm. The Homecoming half time show will include the ETHS marching band, PomKits, and the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen. Wildkit fans and alumni can purchase ETHS spirit wear (cash or check only) and concession items to support the Boosters. There will also be orange and blue face painting available for $1.00 per person inside the main gate. Face painting proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity.

Tickets will be sold at the gate. Tickets are $2.00 for ETHS students with a valid student ID, and $3.00 for adults. Admission is free for ETHS Boosters members and anyone who donates two (2) cans of food to the annual Homecoming Canned Food Drive which supports local food pantries. Canned items must be current – expired items will not be accepted. Fans are encouraged to come early – this game sells out quickly!

Homecoming Spirit Week: “E-Town Olympics”

A full week of activities is planned for students and staff to celebrate this year’s “E-Town Olympics” themed Homecoming Spirit Week, including:

Monday, October 1 ­- Gold Medal Monday

Tuesday, October 2 – Tie-Dye Tuesday

Wednesday, October 3 – World Wednesday

Thursday, October 4 – Dae Dae Red DayWear red in memory of Dajae “Dae Dae” Coleman and to bring “Stop the Violence” awareness to the school community.

Friday, October 5 – Orange and Blue Day

  • 2:45pm: Student Pep Rally
  • 4:00-7:30pm: 3 on 3 “Hoops For Heaven” Dajae Coleman Memorial Student Basketball Tournament
  • 4:00-7:30pm: 7 on 7 Student Dodgeball Tournament

Saturday, October 6 – Homecoming Day

  • 9:00am – ETHS Freshman Football Game vs.MaineSouth
  • 11:00am – ETHS Sophomore Football Game vs.MaineSouth
  • 12-1:30pm– Senior Class BBQ (Sponsored by the PTSA and Senior Class Board)
  • 1:30pm– ETHS Varsity Football Game vs.MaineSouth
  • 7:00-10:00pm– Homecoming Dance
