All young directors, actors, set designers, cinematographers and aspiring movie moguls aged 19 or younger and who love making short films and documentaries are invited to enter the Evanston Youth Film Festival.
There will be a free filmmaker’s workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 21 in the community room of the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave. Jon Siskel, an award-winning filmmaker and co-director of “Louder Than A Bomb,” will conduct the workshop, answer questions and reveal some movie-making secrets. Festival screening submission guidelines will be available at the workshop.
This winter, the Evanston Art Center will offer additional filmmaking workshops and classes for young filmmakers planning to enter the contest.
The screening and awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 17, location TBD.
