On Oct. 15, Evanston Police arrested a 32-year old Evanston man who allegedly approached a 10-year old girl on Oct. 11 prior to the start of school, said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department. The girl attends King Lab Magnet School.  

Cmdr. Parrott said the man ran after the girl screaming profanity in the 1900 block of Washington Street. The incident was reported to school officials by the girl after she ran away from the man and took the bus to school. Evanston Police were immediately notified by school officials and an investigation was initiated, said the Commander. 

Investigators were able to develop information of a subject matching the description who resides in the area which led to the subject’s identification by the victim, said the Commander. The man was charged with disorderly conduct said the Commander.
