Everyone interested in keeping Evanston’s urban forest healthy and growing is invited to a meeting to be held 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd.

Trees are the ultimate multi-taskers, taking up CO2, making oxygen, cooling and cleaning the air, slowing stormwater runoff, making neighborhoods feel safer … and they are even good for business. But urban trees live, on average, less than 15 years. With climate change, drought and invasive pests and diseases, trees are under even more pressure.

Become part of an action-oriented group committed to caring for Evanston’s trees and supporting all Evanston tree-lovers. Attendees will hear the history and mission of Openlands TreeKeepers, the priorities and challenges of the City of Evanston and  the work to date and plans for Evanston TreeKeepers.
