More than 100 guests gathered at Curt’s Café, 2922 Central St., earlier this month to celebrate the harvest and raise funds for the Yellow Tractor Program.

Yellow Tractor advocates for sustainable growth by building vegetable and fruit gardens. Earlier this year, students in Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management spent an orientation day, called Impact Day, building container gardens at several sites in Evanston.

One of these sites was Curt’s Café, and the new raised beds yielded some of the ingredients for the evening’s appetizers. The guests – project volunteers, board members, supporters, family and friends – sampled food, enjoyed cocktails, dessert and listened to live music by Pat McKillen.
