The City of Evanston recently announced that it has posted the 2013 projected total compensation of all current City employees on its website, cityofevanston.org.

Before this, salary ranges had been posted by classification. The new data includes names, classifications and more details about benefits to give a clearer picture of how much the City spends on employee compensation.

The City is now required under Illinois law to post on its website data for each employee having a total compensation package that exceeds $75,000 per year.  

The City of Evanston will be posting the compensation for all employees and in the coming weeks will add data from previous years.

All of this data is public information and has been available through Freedom of Information Act requests for some time, according to the City.
