Upon returning home at approximately1:50 p.m.on Dec. 9, a homeowner found a juvenile in the home located at the 2000 block of Emerson Street, said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department. The juvenile, a 14-year old Evanston resident, had entered the home by cutting a screen and entering through a bedroom window, said the Commander. The juvenile fled.
Police were able to positively identify the juvenile offender in the burglary, said the Commander. The juvenile was charged with residential burglary and remanded to the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center for custody on December 13.
