“Salute to Vienna” by Evanston-based Chicago Philharmonic returns to Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center, 200 S. Michigan in Chicago, at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.

  This New Year’s Concert, a re-creation of Vienna’s world famous Neujahrskonzert, features a new cast and a full 75- piece orchestra, with European singers and dancers. There will be famous waltzes, polkas and operetta excerpts by Johan Strauss Jr., the “Waltz King,” and his contemporaries.
