Evanston police are  investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 6:10 a.m. on Jan. 2  at the Burger King restaurant in the 1800 block of Dempster Street. A lone offender armed with a handgun entered the restaurant just after it opened for business and approached two employees demanding money from the safe, said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department. Approximately $1000 was turned over to the offender who fled out the rear service door.

Detectives have reviewed  video surveillance cameras from the restaurant. Police provided the accompanying photos of the alleged suspect.
