A day of mindfulness sponsored by Evanston-based Lakeside Buddha Sangha will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd.

Lakeside is a 21-year-old meditation group founded in the tradition of Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Zen monk and writer.

The mostly silent day of mindfulness will focus on cultivating peace and compassionate awareness and will include sitting and walking meditation and talks by teachers Jack and Laurie Lawlor.

The registration fee of $45 includes breakfast snack and vegetarian lunch.  Meditation instruction will be provided.  Participants should bring a sitting cushion or bench and meditation mat.

Chairs are available. Space is limited. More information is available from Lise Jacobson, lisejacobson@comcast.net or 847-475-0080.

Registration forms can be downloaded  from www.lakesidebuddah.org; the deadline is Feb. 1.
