The National Alliance on Mental Illness, Cook County North Suburban Chapter, will offer the Family-to-Family Education Program, a 12-week course for families of adult loved ones dealing with serious mental illness.

Classes start in Evanston on Feb. 16 – May 4, from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Evanston Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.

This course is free of charge and is taught by family members who have first-hand experience.

Families learn about the major mental illnesses – symptoms, medications, side effects, services available, communication and coping strategies. Class members also gain understanding and support from each other.

Interested parties may call NAMI, 847-716-2252 to register.
