Twelve teams from area schools participated in two rounds of trials at the Kane County Judicial Center. The ETHS team was comprised of Matt Hodak, Cate Rudy, Samantha Rudy, Gus Delgado, David Coton, Max Goldsmith, Caroline Foster, Miles Dong and Aaron Clarke.
Congratulations to ETHS sophomore Cate Rudy, who was recognized as an Outstanding Witness, and ETHS senior Matt Hodak, who was recognized as an Outstanding Attorney.
This year’s litigation was People v. Norton, a fictional criminal case in which the defendant is accused of theft of Abraham Lincoln photographs. Circuit Court Judges from Kane County presided over the mock trials. Lawyers from the Kane County State’s Attorney’s office and the Kane County Bar Association served as evaluators in the trials.
