I write to enthusiastically urge support for Andy Bezaitis for D202 school board.

Andy’s devotion to ETHS and his unique skill set would greatly enhance the ETHS school board.  He has a strong background in working with corporate and non-profit boards, overseeing finances and directing strategic planning.  Equally important, Andy is an active volunteer at his children’s schools and sports programs, and with local charities.

Andy is intelligent and innovative, goal-oriented, and committed to measurable outcomes and transparent processes.  He is a solution seeker: personable and professional, respectful of others’ opinions, and someone who really wants to see positive results for all of our kids.

On top of all this, Andy has a true passion for our community and our schools. Raised by immigrant parents who sought out Evanston for its excellent schools, Andy – with the help of supportive teachers and mentors – flourished in math and science at ETHS, an experience he describes as ‘transformative.’  His path led to an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon, and graduate degrees from both Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago, followed by a successful career with telecommunications, wireless and medical/mobile IT systems start-up companies.

Andy understands that ETHS is our high school, an institution that binds our community together, and that we must strive to ensure that it maintains its excellent reputation.  On April 9th we each have the opportunity to vote for up to four candidates for D202 school board.  I respectfully ask that you consider Andy Bezaitis for one of your votes.
