I’m delighted to support the candidacy of Ed Tivador for Ward I Alderman. I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Tivador both professionally and personally for the past 8 years and, as an Evanston resident, I am thrilled that he is seeking this office and that his vision and voice could be heard to address current Evanston issues and be a part of planning for Evanston’s future.
I have experienced Dr. Tivador’s leadership up close in his role on the Executive Committee for my employer, the Northern Suburban Special Education District. He is a big thinker who can also deftly drill down to the essential details of complex issues. He is visionary, leading our district in our strategic planning that involved hearing the voices of all stakeholders and consolidating all of that important information into actionable change. He is compassionate, and driven by the commitment to help make people’s lives better. He is fiscally responsible and his experience as a business manager informs his ability to find cost effective solutions to challenging problems. He is highly respected and admired across the north shore for his exceptional leadership of the Northbrook/Glenview School District 30. He is driven by the pursuit of excellence, and works by developing strong and trusting collaborative relationships. Most importantly, he gets results as evidenced by the remarkable performance of the programs and people he has led.
Perhaps more importantly, Dr. Tivador is a man of character. He lives a life of integrity, accountability, kindness, and respect. He has made a career of serving the public and he is passionate about this next step into local governance He believes in Evanston as a city and community and is committed to being a partner in maintaining our community’s wonderful strengths and in solving our complex problems.
