Shortly after noon on May 7, Evanston police responded to call about a disturbance in the 1100 block of Sheridan Road. Police determined than one man was harassing another man for money and threatened him with bodily harm if he did not give him money, said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department. As a result, the offender, a 43-year old Evanston resident, was taken into police custody and charged with burglary, assault and disorderly conduct, said the Commander.

Police subsequently determined that the man matched the description of a burglar who was captured on video removing a television, video player and hair extensions from a beauty shop in the 700 block of Howard Street on Feb. 17, 2013, said the Commander. After obtaining an admission from the man, police charged him with the Feb. 17 burglary, said Commander Parrott. He added that the man was on parole for burglary.
