The Infant Welfare Society of Evanston (IWSE) was the beneficiary of funds raised by Evanston Township High School senior Anna Hamrickas part of her Senior Studies class.

During her semester-long self-directed project, Anna studied ways of sustaining non-profits for the future. She served as an intern with The IWSE for four months, where she learned about event planning, fundraising, social media planning and the economics of budgeting in a non-profit social service organization. The culmination of the internship and Senior Studies project was a fundraising event targeting graduating seniors and their parents.

The event, held at the Levy Center, raised more than $2,000 to support IWSE’s Early Childhood Education, Parenting Education and Family Support programs and services for at-risk families in Evanston and the surrounding suburbs.
