The AquaSprite Masters Synchronized Swimming team, including Evanston resident Holly Seguine, took top honors in team competition and medaled in several other events at the 2013 Pan American Masters Championships held recently in Sarasota, Fla.

Joining Seguine in winning gold in the 35-49 age group was the six-person team of Heather Dueball of Arlington Heights, Laura Kasprzak of Chicago, Elizabeth Miro of Des Plaines, Veronica Morgan of Rockford and Ivelina Zografova of Mount Prospect.

In addition, Ms. Miro and Ms. Morgan won a bronze medal in duet competition in the 30-39 age group. Ms. Kasprzak, Ms. Seguine and Ms. Zografova took 4th place in the 35-49 trio event.

The group was coached in Florida by former Evanston Township High School physical education teacher Joanne Schalk of Morton Grove. The team practices at the Lattof YMCA in Des Plaines under head coach Nan Zack of Mount Prospect.
