The recipients of the North End Mothers’ Club four annual scholarships were named at the Evanston Township High School awards ceremony on May 22.

Jessica Cooper, left, the 63rd annual recipient of the Senior Girl’s Honor Award, is a student leader who was actively involved in both the ETHS and the greater Evanston community. She was a student ambassador, co-leader of the Women’s Empowerment Group and creator/director of the Shades of Harmony Musical Group. She will continue her education at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The two STEM scholarships were awarded to Candelaria Alcat, right, and Katherine Latimer, center. In addition to her academic achievements, Candelaria was involved in ETHS athletics, DECA and volunteer activities. She will pursue a degree at Colorado College. Katherine, a member of the Senior Math team, was also involved in the math independent study program co-taught by ETHS and Northwestern University faculty. After a gap year with City Year, during which she will work with at-risk students in Little Rock, Ark., Katherine will attend the University of California-Berkeley.

The Joanne Murphy Trautwein Music Scholarship was awarded to Daniel Mills. While at ETHS, Daniel performed in the Honors Concert Band, jazz band and combos, marching band and pit orchestra. He will continue his education at Eastman School of Music.
