Beatrice Davis, principal of Kingsley Elementary School since 2009, will be moving into the Joseph E. Hill Education Center at the beginning of July to take the position of interim Director of Human Resources for the 2013-14 school year. And, to fill the vacancy she leaves at Kingsley School, Tricia Murray will step in as Interim Principal at Kingsley Elementary School on July 1.
“Both of these individuals are leaders in their current positions, and” said Superintendent Hardy Murphy, Ph.D., “we expect that their background knowledge, leadership skills, and proven success in the past will serve our school community in a very positive way next year.”
Ms. Davis has been with the District since 2004, beginning as a primary grade teacher at Bessie Rhodes magnet school, then named Timber Ridge. She was the Interim Assistant Principal at Oakton Elementary during 2007-08 and then Interim Principal at Kingsley for 2008-09, with formal appointment as principal in 2009. Ms. Davis holders a Master in Education in Leadership and Supervision from National-Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in Education from State University College at Oneonta in New York. Ms. Davis replaces Dr. Beth Sagett-Flores, who resigned to take a Superintendent position in another school district.
Ms. Murray has been a member of the School District 65 staff since 1995 when she joined the District as a school psychologist. Since August 2012, Ms. Murray has served as a Special Services Supervisor. She received a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University in 1993 and Master of Arts in School Leadership from Concordia University.
