The 41st annual Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival, one of the longest-running juried art fairs on the North Shore, will return to Dawes Park, Sheridan Road at Church Street, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 and Sunday, Aug. 4. The event features artwork by more than 125 artists, and will showcase original pieces that were created by     the artists themselves, not produced by a machine on an assembly line.

These artists met the jury’s very high standards in the following categories: photography, jewelry, painting, wood, ceramics, glass, prints/drawings, sculpture, fiber, watercolor and mixed media.

The art fair will also have a silent art auction each  day, the popular Children’s Craft Tent, and food booths on the festival grounds. Jazz, folk, blues and acoustic music will be performed on the lagoon stage to complement the festive atmosphere. A schedule is available  at www.cityofevanston.org/lakeshoreand will be posted at the festival.

A free shuttle bus will take persons from free parking at the Northwestern University parking lot three blocks north of the festival (signs are posted) and back again. Or, visitors may enjoy the stroll between the lot and festival on the Centennial Park walking path.     For more information, please call 3-1-1 (847-448-4311) or 847-448-8260. The festival is presented by the City of Evanston’s Cultural Arts Division and partially supported by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
