After the Evanston City Council voted on July 23 to not accept a proposal for the sale of the Evanston historic lakefront Harley Clarke Mansion, the City Manager was given direction to develop a road map to seek public input and ideas on the adaptive reuse of the 86-year-old facility.

“Moving forward, it is my intention to open up a process by which the City of Evanston can directly engage its residents so that they can share with us creative ideas for the adaptive reuse of this iconic lakefront property that would keep intact the surrounding park area,” explained Evanston City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz.

Residents can get updates on the next steps in the process of finding an adaptive reuse of the Harley Clarke Mansion by visiting www.cityofevanston.org/mansion, where they can also sign up for e-mail updates on the process.
