Cook County Commissioner Suffredin, Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Michael Cabonargi, State Senators Daniel Biss and Heather Steans, State Representatives Robyn Gabel, Laura Fine and Kelly Cassidy, and Evanston Assessor Bonnie Wilson will be hosting a Property Tax Seminar on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. The Seminar will begin at 6:30 pm at the Evanston Public Library at 1703 Orrington Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. The Seminar will review how to file a property tax assessment appeal and other areas of interest to property tax payers.

It is essential for Evanston homeowners to appeal because Evanston’s properties were reassessed this year. As a result, many Evanston homeowners’ assessments were increased. In order to keep that assessment as low as possible, homeowners must appeal. Homeowners can also contact Commissioner Suffredin’s office at 847-864-1209 for additional information or to schedule an appointment for assistance.
