Virginia Wynn Davidson, 88, of Evanston, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2013. Ms. Davidson was a lifelong resident of Evanston. She graduated from Evanston Township High School with the class of ’42. On August 7, 1948, she married the late Carl R. Davidson. Ms. Davidson pursued a career as an office clerk for 20 years, while also diligently fulfilling her role as a mother of two. Ms. Davidson received much recognition and several awards for civil services she provided to the Evanston community. She was a member of the Dawes Elementary School and Chute Middle School PTA for a number of years, where she received a Distinguished Service Scroll from the Illinois PTA in recognition of her notable leadership, and had a scholarship fund installed on her behalf. Virginia also acted as a Girl Scouts of America leader for six years, and was presented with a certificate of recognition for her support of Brownie Troop 1550. As a 45-year member of St. Nicholas Church in Evanston, Ms. Davidson joined the Evanston Catholic Women’s Club. Finally, Virginia was honored by the North Shore Retirement Hotel for her role as a senior volunteer during her extensive dedication over a period of 11 years to acclimating new residents to the community. Virginia Wynn Davidson was daughter of the late Fred B. Wynn and Virginia Hughes Wynn, wife of late Carl R. Davidson, and mother of the late Robert C. Davidson. Ms. Davidson is survived by loving daughter Jeri Davidson (Wade), and affectionate grandchildren Megan Wade, Lindsey Wade and Mackenzie Wade, in addition to four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be delivered on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at 2 p.m., at North Shore Retirement Hotel, 1611 Chicago Ave.
