On Sept. 3, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Evanston police officers working in plain clothes responded to a call of a possible drug transaction taking place in the area of Wesley Avenue and Lee Street. While officers were checking the area they observed a vehicle that was described by the caller and they initiated an investigative stop of the vehicle in the 1700 block of Lee Street, said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department.

During the encounter with the female driver and male passenger, police officers discovered the vehicle had over 60 grams of “crack” cocaine in the center counsel, located in the passenger compartment, said the Commander.  Both subjects were taken into custody and police also seized over $450, he said.

Police charged the man and woman, who are married to each other and from Des Plaines with the narcotics related charges, said Commander Guenther.
