Evanston Police responded to a bank robbery that occurred today at approximately 3:30PM at the Chase Bank located at 901 Grove St. Police learned that a single male offender had entered the bank and approached a teller window presenting a note that implied the offender was armed with a gun and demanded money. Approximately, over $2,600 in U.S. Currency was obtained by the offender.

The bank surveillance cameras caught a photo of the offender, who then left the bank and was viewed on area surveillance cameras walking eastbound onGrove Streetcontinuing acrossSherman Avenue.

The description is a male/white or possibly Hispanic, 35-45 years of age, 5’8”, heavy build, black baseball style hat, sun-glasses, blue button down shirt, black pants, wearing a dark colored back pack with a green zipper.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation also responded to the scene to investigate the incident. No injuries were reported during this robbery and a weapon was never displayed during this incident. Police searched the area and as of this time, the offender is still at large.
