Pat Markham “is resigning after 25 years of dedicated service,” Barbara Hiller, chief administrative officer for District 65, announced on Sept. 23. Ms. Markham joined District 65 in 1988. She was appointed executive assistant to the superintendent in 1999 and to communications manager in 2006. She served as Secretary of the School Board since 1994.

“Pat’s dedication to District 65 has been immeasurable,” said Ms. Hiller. “She has many unique and exceptional abilities, including the ability to create, retrieve and disseminate information, maintain schedules and deadlines, and work in an ever-changing landscape. She is a repository of information and will be difficult to replace.”

Katie Bailey, the longest serving member of the Board, said to Ms. Markham, “You are the kind of person that every organization wants to have. You are the kind of colleague that every co-worker wants to have. And I will tell you the kind of friend that people want to have. I thank you for your service.”

On behalf of the Board, Tracy Quattrocki, president, presented Ms. Markham a gift, saying, “Thank you so much from all of us.”
