The fourth annual MashUp, held on Sept. 17 and  sponsored by the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, Northwestern University and others, brought business and civic leaders together for good food, drink and camaraderie in a tent along Northwestern University’s beach.  Evanston Chamber President Dick Peach announced the winners in the Chamber’s  2013 Burger Wars/Salad Skirmish.

“The 26 restaurant entrants in Evanston make this an enjoyable event for businesses, the restaurants and certainly the public. More than 1,000 people took the time to vote and to sample Evanston’s finest. Chamber Executive Director Elaine Kemna-Irish led groups to several of the competing restaurants for tastings,” Mr. Peach said.

The winners competed in three cate-gories: taste, creativity and presentation.

Burger War Winners: Taste, BAT 17; Creativity, JT’s; and Presentation, Edzo’s.

Salad Skirmish Winners: Taste, Celtic Knot; Creativity, The Cellar; and Presentation, Illinois Nut & Candy.
