Evanston Township High School’s boys golf team has advanced to the IHSA State Finals for the first time since 1960. Thanks to a lights out back nine score of 34 from senior Jackson Mihevc, the Kits finished with a total score of 306, one stroke better than Loyola to capture third place in the Marist Sectional.  Mihevc  (71), Henry Gruger  (76), Sam Knepper  (78) and Jake Casati  (81) led the Kits on the day.

Casati and Gruger also sealed the deal with birdies on the 18th hole. Gruger chipped the ball in from off the green for his birdie.  Coach Jed Curtis leads his team to “The Den” in Bloomington this Friday and Saturday to compete against the other top 11 high schools for the IHSA State Championship.
