On Nov. 3, beginning at 2 p.m., local dance companies will come together again to create public performances to commemorate and honor the City of Evanston’s 150th anniversary year.

Five dance companies will take to the streets of downtown Evanston for round two of “On Site: Putting Dance on the Map,” featuring original choreography especially created for specific locations throughout downtown Evanston.

The Evanston Dance Ensemble has been the curator of On Site: Putting Dance on the Map and opens the Nov. 3 performance schedule at 2 p.m. in Raymond Park on Chicago Avenue. The ensemble will perform a second time at 3:50 p.m.

The four dance companies listed below will be presenting 7-10 minute dance pieces at 2:30 p.m., 2:50 p.m., 3:10 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at various locations within walking distance of the others:

• Elements Contemporary Ballet – Lake Street Church, 607 Lake St.

• LakeDance – Fountain Square at the intersection of Davis Street, Orrington Avenue and Sherman Avenue

• enidsmithdance – The Evanston Public Library ramp at the entrance of the building at 1703 Orrington Ave.

• Striding Lion Performance Group –  The outdoor plaza at 909 Davis St.

All of the dance companies involved in creating On Site: Putting Dance on the Map live, work, and/or rehearse in Evanston, and each is proud to be honoring a community which demonstrates strong support for the arts.
