School District 65 has started the process of gathering input from stakeholders on the desired characteristics of a new superintendent. The information will be used to develop a profile for the new superintendent which will be used to guide the search.
On Nov. 6, the District posted a survey on its website to gather input from stakeholders on the desired characteristics of a new superintendent. The survey form also allows for open-ended comments. Anyone wishing to complete the survey may do so by visiting www. district65.net.
The District has also scheduled times for the search team, Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, to meet individually or in small groups with School Board members, administrators, principals and assistant principals, teachers, staff, union representatives, former School Board members, representatives of School District 202 and others during the week of Dec. 2.
The District plans to invite representatives of approximately 25 community groups to attend a small group meeting to provide their views. The groups include CASE, Chessman Club, Childcare Network, ETHS, FAAM, Family Focus, Fleetwood Jordain, Latino Resources, McGaw YMCA, Moran Center, NAACP, Northwestern University, Women’s Club of Evanston, Youth Job Center, Y.O.U., YWCA and others.
Four community forums have also been scheduled to gather input. The forums are open to everyone in the community. The forums are scheduled as follows:
• Dec. 2, at 7 p.m., Fleetwood Jordain Community Center, 1655 Foster St.
• Dec. 3, at 7 p.m., Joseph E. Hill Administration Building, 1500 McDaniel Ave.
