Evanston residents Michael Linder, Francesca Mereu and Malcolm Ruhl will appear in the Goodman Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol,” which runs through Dec. 28 at Goodman’s Albert Theatre in Chicago.
Francesca, 8, plays Emily Cratchit for the second consecutive year. Mr. Lincer plays Mr. Fezziwig and the Young Man, and Mr. Ruhl plays the Musician and Mr. Keys.
The Goodman has used former dramaturg Tom Creamer’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic 1843 novella – the unforgettable tale of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, a wealthy businessman with a disdain for holiday cheer in Victorian London. One Christmas, Scrooge is visited by four ghosts who take him on an incredible journey and offer him a new perspective on everything from his dusty past to his dark future. They present him with an opportunity to sympathize with his fellow man and rediscover life and love.
