Last night overnight crews cleared and hauled snow from the downtown district along the following corridors:
Benson: Elgin to Davis
Clark: Orrington to Sherman
Davis: Chicago to Ridge
Church: Oak to Orrington
Maple: Clark to Church
Sherman: Clark to Davis

Today, Jan. 4, crews continue to clear snow from primary and residential streets where needed.In addition crews are performing detailed clean-up of parking lots and sidewalks.  

More snow is expected this afternoon and overnight. Forecasters are predicting 2-8 inches of additional snow by Sunday night. Public works crews are ready to handle any additional snow and will continue hauling and clean-up in the business district north (Central and Noyes) and south (Main and Howard) overnight and along Chicago Avenue and Dempster on Sunday.

Crews are out today to handle Thursday’s recycling collection, but it will likely not be completed until tomorrow. 

Although the City is not issuing a route parking ban for Saturday night (Jan. 4), it is posting no parking signs for snow operations along the following corridors:
Central from Eastwood to Hartrey
Noyes from Sherman to Maple
Howard from Ridge to Custer
Main from Hinman to Maple.
