The Evanston/North Shore NAACP, the Evanston African American History & Genealogy Study Group, the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti and Shorefront Legacy Center will sponsor three Saturday discussions in February during Black History Month. All presentations will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave., and are free and open to the public. The dates and topics are listed below.
Feb. 1, Voting Rights, Political Power and Power in the Black Community
Feb. 8, Creative Arts and the Black Community
Feb. 15, The Continuing Legacy of Pan-African Resistance.
In addition, RoundTable columnist Peggy Tarr will give a presentation, “The Dimensions of Color,” at the African American Genealogy meeting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 28, also at the Levy Center, 300 Dodge Ave.
