On Jan. 26 at about 3:25 p.m., a 25-year old Skokie man was shot in the ankle in the 1400 block of Dewey, Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department told the RoundTable.
He said the victim was the passenger in a vehicle, and that he got out of the vehicle and began to run when two men approached. The victim was shot while he was fleeing, said the Commander. He was taken to Evanston hospital and treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Police believe the shooting was related to a drug deal or potential drug deal going bad, said the Commander. The shooter and another man fled the scene in a silver Chrysler. The victim’s cell phone was taken.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident, said Commander Parrott.
