In February, Piccolo Theatre hosts its inaugural two-weekend festival of original one-act plays by local and regional playwrights. This juncture of comedy-writing and performance answer the question, “what was your first laugh?”

Each weekend features three new plays, beginning with “Laughter is Serious Business” by Zev Hurwich, “Ice Flow” by John Green and “Happy 3rd Birthday, Siobhan” by Liz Calvert on Feb. 7 and 8. The following weekend showcases three additional new works, making a total of six world premieres.

First Laugh One-Act Festival runs Feb. 7-8 and 14-15; all performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $20/adults, $15/students. Those wishing to buy tickets may call the box office, 847-424-0089 during business hours or visit www.piccolotheatre.com.
