Winter blues set in this time of year.  Lakeside Buddha Sangha offers an opportunity to cultivate happiness, energy, and awareness during a day of mindfulness from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 2 at the Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd.
 
“Be Still and Know: A Life Illumined by Meditation,” a mostly silent day of mindfulness, will include sitting and walking meditation and talks by teachers Jack and Laurie Lawlor from Evanston-based Lakeside Buddha Sangha.

Lakeside Buddha Sangha is a 23-year-old meditation group founded in the tradition of Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Zen monk and writer. Meditation instruction will be provided. Beginners are welcome.

The registration fee of $45 includes breakfast snack and vegetarian lunch with a vegan option. Participants are advised to bring a sitting cushion, mat or bench.
