City Clerk Rodney Greene and RoundTable columnist Peggy Tarr were two of the guest readers at Washington School as part of Black History Month observances. Ms. Tarr read “Each Kindness” by Jacqueline Woodson.
Mr. Greene read to third-graders from … “This is the Dream” then talked with the children about where they thought they would be in 10 years. Several had answers about not just where they would be but how they would get there, Mr. Greene said. “We had a great time. I sang ‘You Are So Beautiful’ to them, because they were such a great class,” he added.
Both Ms. Tarr and Mr. Greene have read at Washington School during Black History Month for the past three years.
