The National Merit Scholarship Company has recognized the following ETHS seniors, named as semifinalists in September 2013, as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Company (NMSC) annually recognizes U.S. high school students who demonstrate definitive marks of academic excellence. Finalists are considered for the National Merit Scholarships to be offered this spring.
The 2014 National Achievement finalists from ETHS are Jonathan V. Denose and Taylor A. Sims. ETHS 2014 National Merit finalists are Joshua E. Davidoff, Zachary B. Favakeh, Henry C. Magnuson, Rebecca E. Posner, Nathan J. Shelly and Talia E. Weiss.
The National Merit Scholarship Program also sends Letters of Commendation in recognition of outstanding academic promise. Twenty-four ETHS students were named Commended students for 2013-14: Joshua M. Abraham, Evan J. Armacost, Isabel M. Avery, Caitlin F. Boer, Ben R. Butler, James E. Carthew, Aaron B. Clarke, Adam G. Frim, Sarah L. Green, James C. Long, Fiona G. Maxwell, Ian F. McMurray, Channing P. Philbrick, Glenn G. Robison, Erin M. Rosenfeld, Kamal A. Sehrawy, Anne N. Shapiro, Elaine E. Simon, Taylor A.
