he accumulating snow has ended for the Evanston area. A few flurries may still be possible otherwise it will be cloudy and windy for most of the day with some sunshine in the afternoon possible.
Evanston received 2.5” of snow last night as measured at the Public Works Service Center. Snow began falling at 12:00 midnight but did not really accumulate on roads until 2am. Significant snow accumulation concluded around 6am. At 2:30am Public Works responded to a large tree limb that fell on two parked cars. This occurred on Oak just South of Davis.
Last night Public Works crews plowed and salted all main streets and secondary’s and made some passes thru residential areas as well.
Today’s focus will be on plowing and salting residential streets, main streets and secondary’s as needed.
