CIERA, the Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics at Northwestern Univeristy will offer a free talk by Dr. Maria Zuber at 4 p.m. on April 3 in Ryan Family Auditorium  of the Technological Institute at Northwestern University, 2145 Sheridan Road.

Dr. Zuber has a background of developing instruments that have ventured to Mars, Mercury, and the Moon on a variety of NASA missions. Her talk, Old Moon, New Moon, focuses on how the study of the moon informs understanding of how the rocky planets, including Earth, formed and developed. She will discuss the evolving understanding of the Moon from the earliest observations.
