On April 8, three men were shot while they were reportedly in a convenience store in the 1600 block of Howard Street, just east of the CTA station. Someone fired shots from across the street at about 7:40 p.m., said police.

 

One man, a 36-year old resident of Chicago, was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 8:26 p.m.

 

A second man was shot in the hip and stomach and was taken to St. Francis in serious condition. The third man was struck in his collarbone and was stabilized at St. Francis.

 

Chicago police are investigating the shootings.
