Last week, Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, Sixth Ward Alderman Mark Tendam, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, City staff and the Central Street Business Association celebrated the opening of Orangetheory Fitness, 2800 Central St.

Orangetheory Fitness is a workout broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training, using a variety of equipment including treadmills, rowing machines, suspended bodyweight training (SBT) and free weights to tone the body and gain energy throughout the day.

The company was mentioned positively in The New York Times in 2001.

David Lanz, owner of the Orangetheory Fitness Evanston studio said, “We are so excited to be a part of this community and share in everyone’s fitness journey.”

“We are pleased to welcome Orangetheory Fitness to Evanston’s fine health and wellness community.  It’s great that they provide a different type of workout opportunity by specializing in cardiovascular and strength training,” said Elaine Kemna-Irish, executive director of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce.
