On April 17, Evanston’s softball team mustered just 3 hits in an 11-0 loss to Niles West in Central Suburban League South division play.

On April 19, the Kits took on Rolling Meadows in a doubleheader at home. Rolling Meadows won the first game 9-1. The second game was close and went down to the wire. The Mustangs were ahead, 7-5, in the top of the sixth inning. The Kits scored one run in the bottom of the sixth, when Maddy Managlia singled, took second on an error and scored on Emma Maxwell’s third hit of the game, a double over the left fielder’s head with two outs.

In the seventh inning, the Kits’ Cate Rudy got on base on an error, but the next two batters flied out and lined out, leaving the tying run on base. The Kits lost game two in the double header, 7-6. Their record in now 2-7 for the season.
